How We Handle Every Piece
Each service at Kala Siam starts the same way: the watch is looked at carefully, its condition is noted, and you're told what we see before anything is agreed. For straightforward battery jobs this takes a few minutes. For overhauls it involves more conversation, but the principle is the same — nothing happens without your knowledge.
We don't rush. Overhauls take as long as the movement needs. Timing regulation involves running the watch on the timegrapher across positions, making fine adjustments, and verifying the result before handing it back. The work is the work; shortcuts tend to show up later.

Battery & Seal Care

A precise battery replacement for quartz watches, paired with a fresh gasket and a basic water-resistance check where the case allows. Suited to everyday wearers who want their watch looked after properly rather than rushed. Includes a gentle exterior clean and a short condition note.

Timing Adjustment & Regulation

Diagnostic timing on a calibrated machine followed by careful regulation to bring a mechanical watch back into comfortable accuracy. Includes inspection of the movement for wear and a clear explanation of findings, so owners can make an informed choice about any further care.

Vintage Overhaul

A measured, full-service overhaul for older mechanical watches, carried out with respect for the piece's original character. Covers complete cleaning, lubrication, worn-part assessment, and reassembly with testing across several days. Timeline and any optional work are discussed openly before starting.

Standards We Apply
Consistent Across All Three Services
Secure Piece Handling
All watches are stored in a locked cabinet when not on the bench. Each piece has an individual intake record from arrival to collection.
Calibre-Matched Lubricants
We stock a proper range of movement lubricants and apply them at the correct points and viscosities for each calibre type.
Written Handover Notes
Every service closes with a written note — what was done, what was found, and anything worth monitoring. Plain language, no abbreviations.
No Unannounced Costs
If anything unexpected comes up that would affect the final cost, we contact you before proceeding. Nothing is added without your knowledge.
Realistic Timelines Given at Intake
We provide an honest estimate at intake, not an optimistic one. If a job takes longer, we'll tell you as soon as that becomes clear.
Intake Photography
Photographs of each piece are taken at intake and kept on file until collection. Pre-existing marks and condition are documented from the start.
