Things People Often Ask

How long does a battery replacement take?

Most battery replacements are completed within an hour of drop-off if the required battery is in stock. We keep a broad range on hand for common quartz movements. If your model needs an unusual cell, we'll let you know the same day.

How accurate can a mechanical watch be after regulation?

Regulation can generally bring a well-maintained movement to within ±10–20 seconds per day in normal wearing conditions. The exact result depends on the movement's age and condition. We will tell you what the timing machine shows before and after, so you have a clear picture.

What does the Vintage Overhaul cover?

A full overhaul includes disassembly of the movement, ultrasonic cleaning of all parts, fresh lubrication at all points, reassembly, and several days of timing observation before handover. Case polishing is not included by default — we prefer to leave original finishes intact — but we can discuss this separately.

How long does a Vintage Overhaul take?

Typically two to four weeks, depending on the complexity of the movement and whether any parts need sourcing. We will give you an estimated timeline before starting, and we'll be in touch if anything changes during the process.

Do you work on all watch brands?

We work on most Swiss and Japanese movements, including many vintage and mid-century pieces. If you have a highly complex complication or a piece that requires manufacturer-specific tooling, we may refer you to a specialist — but we'll tell you honestly rather than attempt work that isn't within our scope.

Is my watch safe while it is with you?

Pieces in for service are kept in a secure, locked cabinet when not on the bench. We record a condition note at intake so the state of every watch is documented on arrival. For vintage or high-value pieces we recommend discussing insurance separately with your provider.
